Danielle Steele, known best for her role in the hit TV series “How I Met Your Mother,” died on Saturday. She was 21.

After winning Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series at the 2013 Emmy Awards, it was too much for Steele. The excitement of it all caused her to have a heart attack at one of the many after-parties she attended. Paramedics did all they could to save the young actress. Steele died at St. Vincent Medical Center in Los Angeles, Cal., early Saturday morning.

Steele was born on March 17, 1992, in Medina, Ohio. Her family moved to Minnesota shortly after her birth and then reloacated to California in 2005. As a child, she was always putting on shows for her family. “We always knew she would be a star,” said close family friend Brad Jones. Steele was very busy working on her her acting career and had little time to attend school. She was able to earn her GED in 2010.

Steele started her career as a teenager on the Disney Channel. She guest-starred in the show “Hannah Montana” and had minor roles in Disney Channel movies. “Danielle was a fun person to work with on the show,” claimed “Hannah Montana” star Miley Cirus.

When Steele turned 18, she left the Disney Channel to explore her acting career. She immediately joined the cast of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” parts one and two. Although it was only a minor role, Steele was ecstatic. “It was my dream to join this cast and be a part of something as magical as Harry Potter,” she told reporters when interviewed in 2010.

After filming Harry Potter, Steele wanted to try her luck in the TV business. She eventually got the role as Barney’s unknown daughter Jamie, in the show “How I Met Your Mother,”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better person to play my daughter,” said Neil Patrick Harris who plays the part of Barney on the show. “She always brought her great personality on set and she will be missed.” CBS does not plan on replacing Steele as Jamie in the show. “There is just no way we could find someone to replace Danielle,” said director Pamela Fryman. “No one could even compare to her.”  The last episode Danielle filmed will be aired next Monday. “ Yes, we plan on writing Steele’s death in the show, but right now we are just mourning her loss,” said Fryman.

Steele was dating “Twilight” star Taylor Lautner at the time of her death. The two were talking about marriage. “Words cannot describe the pain I am feeling right now,” he said. “I know Danielle would not want us to linger on being sad though. She was always full of life and constantly smiling. I know she is smiling down on us now.”

Steele was known for her winning smile and great personality. “Danielle had the talent of making any serious situation laughable,” said Jason Segel, co star of “How I Met Your Mother.”  “Her laugh will be missed on set.” Steele volunteered at Hollywood’s Children’s Hospital and the Make a Wish Foundation. Steele is survived by her father Michael, mother Vicki (Swan) and sister, Samantha.

“I am thankful for everyone good and bad in my life. Without you, this award would not be possible,” said Steele when she accepted her award Friday night. “I cannot wait to see what is next in my life.”
