Jordan George was free spirited hard workingman, who was loved by so many. In his 48 years spent in this world, he accomplished things that others could only have dreamed of.
Jordan’s close friends and relatives had nothing but good things to say. Loveable, athletic, careful and risk taking were just some of many words thrown out there.
“ He was the nicest and friendliest kid that I have ever met.” States his aunt. “He inspired so many kids out there to do the right thing. He is really going to be missed.”
Jordan Paul George died on February 1st from a drug overdose while celebrating a Stanley Cup with his teammates.
Jordan was born on August 20th 1990 in Dubuque, IA. “ It tore me apart when I heard the bad news about my son.” States his mother. “ He is just a kid that you cannot replace, he will be deeply missed.”
Jordan always loved the game of hockey and his career really took off when he was granted a hockey scholarship at Bemidji State. Hockey was always second to none in his life.
Jordan had a good 4-year career at Bemidji State and then went on to play professional hockey in Buffalo, New York for the Buffalo Sabres of the national hockey league.
After a 6-year career with the Buffalo Sabres, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Lighting, a rival of his former team. He then went on to win the Stanley Cup and scored the game-winning goal in front of his close relatives.
“He had the heart of a lion, he truly did” says his close friend and teammate Steven Stamkos. “He was the kind of person who would make you believe in things that weren’t possible. He was a unique kid.”
Anyone who attended his ceremonial in the Dubuque cemetery would know how much this guy loved. Plenty of tears racing down many people’s faces in the crowd. The support he got was tremendous and he will always be missed.
He leaves behind his wife Emily 46, his sister Kirstin 51, his two kids Jordon 17 and Mike 18. Everyone is well and resides in Tampa Bay.
